We decided to upgrade from our troublesome brand X  partial house generator to a new Briggs and Stratton Whole house generator.  We found the warranty to be better (5 years full warranty), the generator did not take up as much room (looked like my central air compressor) and the guys who installed it were really good to work with.  I would recommend them to everyone...
